SML Events

The story began in 2021. Mid-Covid, when there were no events up and running (well, not many anyway), I came up with something small-ish that I thought could work. We raised lots of money for charity…. and I thought to myself, “well, if I can do that between lockdowns, what else might I be able to do?”

So along came “Authors at the Armouries” which was bigger… and now we’re 4 years later…

Just when everyone thought AATA was the one to watch… sneaky me thought nah…

I have now created a second and separate event to AATA called PASCIFY.

Why Pascify?

I’d been asked a number of times to create an event just for fantasy, PNR and sci-fi fans that combines the fun of a romance convention but also brings the pizazz and nerd-ability that I have in my possession. Plus as AATA grows (we’re doubling attendance year on year) we need to find a way to balance that.

All the venues we work with are registered charities and we give back heavily to the community in more ways than one!

What you’ll still get from Pascify that you’ve enjoyed with AATA

➡ A mixture of up and coming talent and existing/established authors

➡ Promotional opportunities for authors and vendors in the run-up

➡ Something new, all the time, to keep things fresh!

➡ Same great value

➡ We will be carrying on with talking events at Pascify but we’ll also be able to do more

➡ We strive for equality, so we want a mixture of different authors and vendors at each event that are there representing

What’s going to be different between the events?

➡ Location – AATA is in West Yorkshire (Leeds city centre), while Pascify takes place in Harrogate (North Yorkshire), and being on the edge of town, Pascify will take place in a much more rural spot than AATA

➡ Our one hall at Pascify is bigger than both halls at AATA combined

➡ Roughly we’ll have twice the number of visitors at Pascify; we we can still grow into this venue, too. In the years ahead we’ll think about making the event longer and adding a Ball perhaps, etc.

➡ Obviously Pascify is genre specific but we might add other genre-specific events as we progress – whereas AATA will remain multi-genre and will continue to give lots of people their first chance at a signing!

➡ Pascify will have more of a convention feel than other book signings we’ve done; comicon elements included alongside awards and competitions for best-dressed cosplay!

AT THE HEART of everything will still be me and my professional marketeer husband, bringing you smashing events that just leave you wanting more!
