FAQ

This list is a work in progress and will be added to as we go along. Please use our FB group to ask any questions about this event, but we have also provided lots of information on our ticket page(s), too!

What’s the best way to get to the venue? Visit the GYEC site for recommendations

Have you got a map of the site? Yes, click here

Where will I register? In the foyer of Hall 1 – you won’t miss our welcome desk

Access Information/Disabled ParkingAvailable here

What’s the deal with parking at the venue? Totally free and ample, just yards from the hall entrance.

If I’m at the Meet and Greet, will I register then and will I need to register again? Yes, and no, you will not need to register again!

If I’m an EE ticket holder, when can I register? Registration will open at 9am (some of you may have already registered at the M&G).

If I have a GA ticket, when can I register? From 10.30am – the cafe will be open for you to grab a drink if you’ve got your wristband and the doors aren’t open yet.

Do I need to print my ticket? Your QR code on your phone is fine, or the printed article.

Do I get a lanyard? EE ticket holders do.

What are you doing for charity at Pascify? We want to help these dudes https://www.3dadswalking.uk/

When will a table plan be available detailing where all the authors and vendors are going to be situated in the hall? 2-3 weeks ahead of the event

What’s included in the swag bag? To be confirmed (not on sale yet)

Can you tell me what food is available on site? Hot and cold food. A hot meal and drink costs around £15 – and a sandwich, snack and drink around £10. All food is sourced locally. FYI we have 2 cafes within the Halls, a hot drinks truck – plus, there’s also a farm shop and cafe at the top of the site called Fodder which you’ll pass on your way in.

Is there any seating around the Hall? Yes + props for having photos

Will there be a swaps area? Most likely, as people go crazy for it!

Are talks included in the ticket cost? They are, but we may have to wristband some talks in order to make it fair for all.

What sort of trolley am I allowed to bring? Less than 1m wide and no camping trolleys. No large suitcases. You can leave the hall and offload into your car, then re-enter the signing.

Will there be a storage/cloak area? Yes.

Will you be providing a postal service? After we’ve trialled it at AATA, probably, yes.

What will the authors sign? We will not be limiting what authors can sign, but they may have their own limits (which they will communicate beforehand). Most authors will sign whatever you put in front of them (within reason). Please don’t be offended if some authors have a limit on the number of items they will sign – this is to make sure they can meet as many of you as possible.

Are you ticketing any authors? It’s highly likely.

Give me some advice on pre-ordering books/merch. If an author is not selling on the day and is only signing books you put in front of them, they will absolutely let you know – so in that case it’s wise to pre-purchase from online retailers/bricks and mortar stores and bring those books with you. However, most authors will have a pre-order form – and some authors do have huge lists and won’t be bringing every book they’ve ever written along with them. Pre-ordering guarantees you’ll get the book(s) you want. Particularly, special editions tend to be pre-order ONLY.

What will be for sale on the day? Most things! Lots of authors will be selling many of their titles on the day and our vendors will have many amazing items for sale, too.

Can I bring books to be signed? As above! You’re allowed to bring with you copies of your favourite books purchased in store/online before the event.

How do I pay for books and merchandise on the day? Most authors and sellers will accept either cash or card, or have their PayPal app at the ready. If disaster occurs and a certain author loses every device they own, thus rendering them only able to accept cash – I am sure you’ll be notified if that becomes the only option available. I believe the Sainsbury’s supermarket nearby has cashpoints, but the GYEC does not.

Are the authors happy to have a photo with me? If you’ve been to a few signings, you’ll know that most authors are! Some may be immunocompromised and might not be comfortable with this. Others might be uncomfortable with proximity. Please just ask politely because nobody will bite! Some authors prefer not to have their picture taken to keep their anonymity.

Will you be selling PASCIFY merch on the day? Highly likely, yes, but we will also put out a pre-order just before the event.
